This week’s ‘Play Wot Dave Wrote’ is ‘Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure of the Multiple Anachronisms’ – and includes Dr Watson, Poirot and Hastings in the mix. So, expect tracks about questions, answers, searching, problems and solutions etc with a sprinkling of European bands/artistes. There will be tracks from Gabby Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Europe, Status Quo, The Marshall Tucker Band, Ramones, Aretha Franklin and the Eurythmics, Fish, Hudson Ford, Plastic Bertrand and many more.
In addition to the usual spots (see Pen’s Poster, below), “What’s Your Style?” features Blues-Rock, Trad. Jazz, Southern Rock and part of a film soundtrack - all within the theme of the week, of course. We have the return of Ann’s Formative Years and also Pen has selected ‘In Search of a Lost Chord’ by The Moody Blues as her featured album of the week.
The show will finish with a bit of classical therapy with the Adagio from Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1 (Opus 6), as performed by The London Philharmonic Orchestra under Charles Dutoit.
