Much like Ridley Scott forgot what made Alien so brilliant (small cast so you cared about the characters, confined set), Lucas forgot what made the original trilogy so brilliant- THE characters. He let his obsession with technology and special effects write the scripts for the prequels. Phantom Menace rates as one of the worst films I have ever seen. Clones and Sith were better, but not a patch on these three :)
There are THREE Marvel Treasury editions (giant oversize, effectively A3 size)- the first two split the story into two parts. The third one is both the first two combined lol
Not sure when I first knew about it, but It was quite a few months before the UK release because I remember the build up. Watching as many programmes as I could find. I have a number of different special editions of mags/comics, but don't think I have that Marvel one or I'd remember...
It's the first film (of not very many) I ever went to see in the cinema more than once. Think it was a grand total of 12 over a two month period. Slight obsession I think :-)
The original Marvel Treasuries editions of Star Wars, with art by Howard Chaykin in half of the story, are awesome and amongst my most precious possessions.
The first I knew of Star Wars was in a two page feature in the first 2000AD Summer Special (1977) - but they got a picture of Han Solo captioned as Luke Skywalker. I still have the edition somewhere, I will have to dig it out and scan the two pages...
Not seen the current film yet. Wasn't impressed (except as a film outside of the franchise) with Force Awakens, but loved Rogue One. Watched Rogue One loads of times, got the same feel as the original :-)

A great end to a brilliant day, nice one Darren, goodnight pal.
And so...
And finally...
Totally!
This is a piece of genius.
Now it is time for...
Brilliant, shame it has finished.
Agreed.
The radio shows are as excellent as the films.

Take it easy Graeme, goodnight pal.
Nn mate
OK, I'm gonna hit the sack, but still listening to the end of Jedi at least.
NN guys :-)
The first 3 Star Wars are legendary, I feel that the newer films have just been an excuse to make money like many other film franchises and remakes.
And quite right too!
The guys I worked with took the p!$$ something chronic. However it is now the stuff of legend ;-)

This is the 2000AD Summer Special, but will need to be at home to get the article up.

Crikey I was 16 when the first film came out :-(
I remember watching Return Of The Jedi at the cinema as a 12 year old when it first came out.
Go Leia!
Haha
The funny thing is my search for Leia in the costume brought up more pics of cosplayers than leia herself!!
Beat me to it with the Leia pic ;-)
Just in time...
Hello again Graeme.
Hi mate
Back on the computer now...
oh dear lol
Jabba the hut had a long lost brother called Pizza.

Moving over the BRS Room for the 7pm to 10pm part of the show.
It is a pleasure to here these episodes again.
CGI what's CGI. Well not until they remastered them :-)

Dee wanted to join in!
We said the same re Rogue One. Did enjoy Force Awakens but R1 was awesome.
Not seen the current film yet. Wasn't impressed (except as a film outside of the franchise) with Force Awakens, but loved Rogue One. Watched Rogue One loads of times, got the same feel as the original :-)
Be careful what you wish for....
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..
I loved TIM lol, but thought Elizabeth was gorgeous.... ;)
Hi again. Got my Jaunting belt on (some may use wristbands, but I'm old school), for operating between Fb and the forum ;-)
How awesome is this I Robot album by The Alan Parsons Project!?!
