As the show reaches edition 400, it's only right that I pay special homage to the man who made me want to be a rock DJ, and whose Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio 1 provides the template for the BRS; namely, Mr Tommy Vance.

In this special 4 hour show, we'll have 2 hours of Tommy and the Friday Rock Show, along with 2 hours of the bands and artists and actual songs I heard for the first time thanks to the FRS. So for one week only, there will be TWO Fridays in a week. Expect Asia, Magnum, Diamond Head, Deep Purple, Barclay James Harvest, Black Sabbath, SHY, UFO, Tygers of Pan Tang, Baby Tuckoo, White Sister, Vixen and many more.

In TV's section, we'll listen in awe to the great man as he presents a show that includes a session by Queen, with White Spirit in the studio session, and songs from Krokus, Phil Collins, Camel, Dedringer, MSG and more.
